What types of sedation are available?
GP Dental & Associates provides a range of different sedation options, including:
- Laughing gas (nitrous oxide)
- Oral conscious sedation
- General sedation
- IV sedation
Which sedation is right for me?
When discussing upcoming oral surgery, Greg G. Pitts DDS will evaluate the patient and determine the best level of sedation for their treatment. Oral surgery patients often prefer stronger sedative methods such as general sedation or IV sedation, which is monitored throughout the procedure for patient safety and comfort.
What oral surgeries are performed at the practice of GP Dental & Associates?
The two more common types of surgeries performed at our practice include:
- Extractions – extractions of natural teeth may be required in a variety of situations. They may include either simple or surgical extractions. A simple extraction is performed on a tooth that is accessible above the gum line and can be removed quickly and easily from the socket using special dental instruments. A surgical extraction is more invasive and requires the dentist to cut into the gum tissues to access a tooth beneath the gums.
- Dental implants – dental implants are a highly desirable option for patients who are missing one or more teeth in their smile. The implant is placed during oral surgery into the jawbone and after proper healing, restored on top using porcelain restorations. This restores function and a permanent tooth replacement.
